Since November 2022, ALAM Suisse has been proudly partnering with Saint Joseph University of Beirut (USJ), a collaboration built on shared values of solidarity, education, and social responsibility. This partnership has been marked by continuous and meaningful support for USJ’s mission to provide quality education in Lebanon, even amidst challenging times.
Beyond offering student scholarships, ALAM Suisse has played a key role in fostering civic engagement by supporting the creation of a civic engagement and citizenship program, designed to empower students to become active and responsible members of society.
In 2024, ALAM Suisse took its commitment even further by funding the modernization of two flagship rooms at the USJ Faculty of Languages and Translation, a faculty renowned for its excellence in training translators and interpreters.
The Zaarour Room has been fully refurbished and equipped with cutting-edge technology, making it an ideal venue for video conferences, seminars, roundtables, and remote thesis defenses.
This transformation enables USJ’s students and faculty to connect with academic and professional communities around the world, fostering an environment of open dialogue and knowledge exchange.
The Saint Jerome Room has been outfitted with specialized equipment for interpretation training and small academic events, a critical addition that strengthens the Faculty’s capacity to prepare students for careers in multilingual communication and to expand its international collaborations.
On behalf of the Dean, Professor Gina Abou Fadel Saad, the students, and the entire university community, Cynthia-Maria Ghobril Andrea, Director of the USJ Foundation, expressed her heartfelt gratitude:
